Skiing

We rented a cabin at Mt. Hood for a couple of days and did some skiing. Everyone tried the skiing. Nicki and Emily took ski lessons for the day while the rest of us were up shredding on the hill. We also did a little hot tubbin at the cabin...
Grandma Judy and Grandpa Dan joined us on the trip and chose to help with lunch instead of skiing. About halfway through Matthew's video, it appears that he almost collides with a snowboarder. Check it out...

Looks like a really fun vacation! Did Nicki enjoy the skiing lessons? Coming from a beach family, did you enjoy the skiing, Kristy? I am still not sure I am sold on snow.

I did really like the skiing. Your boys are a little young, but in a couple of years you might enjoy it. What I like is that I CAN NOT teach the kids- they have to go to ski school and learn from someone else. I also go to ski school, because I've only been skiing 2 times. So we are all learning, and we meet up to compare notes, and I get to have fun doing the activity, instead of either sitting on the sidelines, or being an instructor.

James and I were in the same ski class, and I kept having to catch myself, because I wanted to give him advice. I realized that that was someone else's job, and I could just enjoy skiing with him. It is the only vacation we have gone on where I get to vacation WITH the family, instead of working so that they can vacation.

Also, I like it that the kids are learning something, gaining a skill, instead of just sitting back on a ride at Disneyland.

The snow is fine if you have the right clothing, and going in the spring helps also.
